Medication Assisted Treatment

HCHD utilizes the FDA-approved medication, Suboxone, to treat individuals with opioid use disorder in combination with peer support services and other behavioral therapies. This provides a "whole-patient" approach to treating substance use disorders. Learn more about this program here.

Substance Use & Mental Health Counseling Services

HCHD offers professional in-house counseling services delivered by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to support individuals navigating substance use and mental health disorders.

Telepsychiatry Services

Patients receive an initial assessment from an in-house family nurse practitioner, followed by psychiatric evaluation and medication management via telemedicine.

Hepatitis C Treatment

HCHD offers accessible, in-house testing and treatment for Hepatitis C. The treatment is effective, affordable, and can cure most patients in 8–12 weeks.

Substance Awareness Programming*
- - Treatment Navigation

The HCHD helps people find the services they need navigating the various options regarding substance use disorder, such as detox, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and recovery support services.

Peer Support

Through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment, the HCHD helps people become and stay engaged in the recovery process and reduce the likelihood of relapse.

- - Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP)

This program offers a wellness and recovery approach to help people decrease and prevent troubling feelings and behavior, increase personal development, improve quality of life, and achieve ones life goals and dreams.

- - Post-Overdose Support

Overdose follow up program which visits someone who has recently overdosed for example within 24 to 72 hours as a follow up visit in order to direct people to treatment services for those seeking to stop their substance use. Discussion of overdose prevention training and overdose materials such as narcan are distributed.

- - Education

The HCHD provides community-based education on topics such as substance use prevention, overdose prevention, naloxone administration, and more.

- - Naloxone Distribution

HCHD offers free naloxone—an opioid antagonist—to individuals at risk of opioid overdose, as well as their friends and family. Includes training on how to rapidly reverse the effects of an overdose and restore normal respiration. Learn more about this program here.

- - Syringe Services

This harm reduction program provides safer drug use supplies, naloxone, and safe disposal options to prevent the transmission of communicable diseases like HIV and Hepatitis C and to reduce the occurrence of overdose.
